Meghan deeply loved Music. She played clarinet, bass clarinet, and percussion. All though taken from us so early in her life, we will always remember her for the great person she was. She will be missed by her family and friends. We Love you Meghan!

Meghan Lynne Hammer, 19, died Feb. 28, 2004, in a one-vehicle accident in Thatcher. She was born in Miami and was a 2003 Miami High School graduate. She was currently a freshman at Eastern Arizona College majoring in special education and music therapy.

She was active in many music programs in the local community such as the Globe-Miami Community band, and the band and chorus programs at Miami High School. She was also a volunteer at the Developmental Learning Center.

She is survived by her parents, Forrest and Debra Hammer of Globe; her paternal grandmother, Ethel Hammer of Little Acres, and maternal grandfather, William Cox of Little Acres.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, March 3) at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Country Club Manor. Interment will follow in Globe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lamont Mortuary of Globe.

A scholarship fund for Globe-Miami band students has been set up at Eastern Arizona College. Donations may be sent to EAC Foundation in memory of Meghan Hammer, P.O. Box 769, Thatcher, AZ 85552.
