Sergeant Ralph Edward Draper Jr was born to Ralph Ernest Draper and Viola Mae McEwen Draper on January 13, 1948 in Fulton, NY. Raised on Air Force Bases he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966 serving in Vietnam, I Corps 1966-67 at Camp Carroll. Upon his discharge in 1970 he entered the law enforcement profession serving with the Town of Estill Police, Goose Creek Police and the North Charleston Police (1973-1994) retiring a Sergeant. He served 10 years in the United States Army Reserves as a Sergeant as well. Upon retirement from law enforcement he started Draper Training and Safety providing OSHA training in the Charleston Area. He is survived by his loving wife Ida Yates Draper, daughters Elke Walton, Tara Walton, Kim Draper and son Ralph E. Draper III, grandchildren Charlie McGowan, Skylar Samenko, Jocelyn Samenko, Gabriel Draper and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in SC and NY. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother SSgt Harrison E. Draper USMC.
