Loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Cora Vine McEwen. She married her childhood sweetheart Ralph Draper on 4 July 1945 after his return from the war in Europe. A dedicated military wife she endured numerous moves all over the country as her husbands military career dictated. She was the mother of 6 children, 4 of whom died shortly after birth (Harold, John, Judy and Jamie) and a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her surviving son's Harry and Ralph Jr. both served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. A devoted Christian she was deeply involved in her church and worked as a Sunday school teacher most of her life. She passed away on 23 Feb. 2001 two weeks after her husband of 55yrs. She is buried with her husband, one of her son's (Harry) and her two infant daughters in her hometown.
