Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Mamie Crawford was born in her parents home in Awendaw near Charleston, SC. Raised on a farm she met and married Dean Yates and together they had five children, Allen, Rhoda, Alfred, David and Ida. After World War II she moved with her children to Mt. Pleasant, SC where she worked for Cummins Engine Company until her retirement. While living in Mt. Pleasant she met and married her second husband Sam Crawford her husband until his death in 1984. A strong and hard working woman she raised many animals, kept a garden, tended to her home that she loved and worked part-time for her sons business Yates Constructors. A kind and loving woman she had 13 grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren at the time of her death after complications from surgury. She was buried next to Sam in Mt. Pleasant.
