Marlene Broviak, 78, of Spring Valley Nursing Center, formerly of Peru, died at 4:28 p.m. June 17, 2014, in the center.

Memorial Mass will be at a later date. Private burial will be at St Valentine Cemetery. Ptak Funeral Home, Peru is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Marlene was born July 4, 1935, in Peru to Peter and Hattie (Brongel) Broviak. She was a graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School. She worked for her father at Broviak's Tire Service in Peru and later along with her brother Ray owned and operated the tire service until retirement. She was a member of St. Valentine Church.

She is survived by her sister in law Wanda Broviak of Peru and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Broviak.
