William (Walenty) was born in Dembowiec, Poland, to Francis and Zofia Pankiewicz Dombrowski. William traveled to the U.S. in 1909 and again in 1910. He married Josephine Lisowski on his birthday, Valentine's Day, in 1914. Josephine was also from his hometown in Poland. Together they settled in Cleveland and had five children: Stella, Frank, Leo, Irene, and Dominic.
