WEST COLUMBIA - Betty C. Bodie, 81, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, SC, with Rev. Louis Bearden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Brent Bearden, James Peeples, Jamie Clark, Alec Clark and Johnny Bearden.
Mrs. Bodie was born in Greenwood, SC, daughter of the late James R. and Florence L. Rauton Rushton. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Tony A. (Lisa) Bearden, Judy A. Brown, Sandy L. (Dwight) Clark, David G. Bearden; sisters, Rusty (Ralph) McDaniel, Patsy Capell, Jeanette Johnson; honorary brother, Tom Witt; sister-in-law, Faye Rushton; grandchildren, Brent (Heather) Bearden, Ashley (James) Peeples, Tammy Chavis, Michelle Cody, Cheryl Clark Hunter, Jamie (Crystal) Clark, Chris Bearden, Johnny (Nikki) Bearden, Carla Bearden; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by brother, Buddy Rushton; grandchild John Clark; and brothers-in-law, Hubert Johnson and Larry Capell.
