William Henry Adams Killed in Indianapolis
William Henry Adams, age 73, a former Danville resident for a number of years, died Monday night almost immediately after being struck by a car when he attempted to cross the street after alighting from a city bus in Indianapolis. He had been visiting his son, John, and was on his way to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Florence Henry, when he was injured.
Born in Kentucky, he had spent almost twenty years in this community but had been staying at the home of another daughter in Montpelier until recently. He was married twice, the second time to Mrs. Ella Drennan, who died in 1940. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Fisher of Nebraska and Mrs. Ellen Roberts of Indianapolis; a son, Anthony in the armed forces in Australia; two stepsons, Frank Drennan, Danville, and Fred Drennan, Clermont; and three children by a former marriage.
Funeral services will be held in the Baker chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Edwin S. Sweeney in charge. Burial will be in the East cemetery.
