He was born in Mill Springs, KY on September 14, 1940, the son of Kendrick and Virginia Campbell. He lived most of his life in the Hagerstown area. He was a 1959 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a retired employee of Dana Corp., in Hagerstown. Glen was a member of UAW Local 1501, and was a fan of Little League baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda (Ballenger) Campbell; 2 sons, Douglas Campbell (Permella) of Aurora, IL and Steven Campbell (Amanda) of Hagerstown;
2 granddaughters, Shenoah Campbell of New Haven, IN and Emma Grace Campbell of Hagerstown; 2 brothers, James Campbell (Kathy) of New Castle and Bobby Campbell (Sandy) of Hagerstown; 4 sisters, Glenna Conwell (John) of Hagerstown, Judy Compton (Roger) of Losantville, Jeanetta Goens (Mike) of Brownsburg and Roxie Burket (Chuck) of Hagerstown; several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.
