Susan Hall Allen, loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter passed from this life on Friday, January 17, 2014 at age 69. She leaves behind her husband, Bill, sons Ed and Greg, daughters-in-law Kerry and Angel, seven grandchildren Kelsey, Tanner, Will, Tucker, Kylie, Katelyn and Tate, her sister, Jan Dodd, her four brothers, Bill, Jack, Kentand Chuck Hall, her sisters-in-law GeeGee Allen, Cindy, Cindy, Penny and Lynn Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. She has been welcomed in Heaven by her parents, Tip and Dorothy Hall, her in-laws Ed and Glenna Allen and her brother-in-law John Allen. The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors Sunday, January 19th from 3 - 5 pm for visitation. Her funeral service will be Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Lake Dallas Church of Christ.

Sue grew up in Ponder, went to school in Krum, and ultimately earned her degree in education from Abilene Christian College. She taught first grade in Oklahoma and Texas for most of her career. She was known as a loving teacher to students, and a friend to all the other teachers.

Sue met her husband, Bill Allen while at Abilene Christian. They were married on September 3, 1965 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage together living primarily in Oklahoma and Texas after a short stint in California. Sue was a loving mother to Ed and Greg and a welcoming mother-in-law to Kerry and Angel. In fact, in-law was not how she viewed them at all. They were the daughters she waited for her whole life. Ultimately, Sue earned a new name, Nana. Her seven grandchildren are her pride and joy that she has enjoyed immensely for the last 19 years.

Sue was a dependable servant in the church at Lake Dallas Church of Christ and previously at Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She taught youth, children's and ladies bible classes throughout her life. She was always there, helping serve anyone she could, in any capacity she was needed.

No matter where she went, she treated people like family. No matter what you called her, wife, mom, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher or friend, you could be around her and you were loved, no matter what. You constantly felt Jesus in her words, her laugh, her tears and her hugs.
