Adelfa Marquez Alaniz, 89, passed away Monday March 3, 2008 in Refugio, Texas. She was born on May 3, 1918 in San Marcos Texas to the late Petra Garcia Marquez and Manuel Marquez.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Candido Alaniz, her two sons Juan Candelario Alaniz and Candido Alaniz, Jr., her three sisters Concepcion Aguilar, Petra Rodriguez and Genoveva Marquez, her brother Alejandro Marquez. She leaves behind eight daughters Adelfa Anzaldua from Sinton, TX., Candelaria Guevara from Houston, Texas, Ramona (Jose Amando) Palacios from Premont, Texas, Maria Anita Alaniz from Refugio, Texas, Petra Almarez and Maria Alicia (Glenn H.) King all from Premont, Texas, Zulema McShane from Corpus Christi, Texas, Diana Roy from Lafayette, Louisania, Brother Manuel Marquez, Jr. from Corpus Christi, Texas, 66 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Rosary was held at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias, Texas. Mass was celebrated at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Interment followed at the Premont Cemetery.
Pallbearers - grandson; Harvey Anzaldua, Severiano Guevara, Jr., Robert Gonzalez, Jr., Alfred King, Michael Guerra and Steven Roy.
