Deceased Name: BRATCHER -- Hazel D.
BRATCHER -- Hazel D., born June 4, 1904 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, passed away Sept. 15, 1995 in El Centro. Mrs. Bratcher owned Hazel's Sundry and Fountain Lunch at 16th and Broadway in San Diego from 1933 to 1943. With her husband, Tiny, she was co-owner of Bratcher Construction Company for over 40 years and was known to personally participate in the dirt moving operation. Their company was responsible for much of the land development in the Fletcher Hills and La Mesa areas during the 1950's. Th e couple recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. A resident of La Mesa since 1943, Mrs. Bratcher devoted her life to her spacious gardens on the west side of Mt. Helix. During her long life she was a devoted mother and grandmother, always available with unconditional love. An avid horse lover, she was a founding member of the La Mesa Tumbleweeds. After being stricken with Alzheimer Disease, she resided in the El Centro area. Family members include her husband FM (Tiny) Bratcher, daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Glenn Dawson of El Centro, son and daughter-in-law HL (Bill) & Bobbi Fisher of Wilberton, Oklahoma and foster daughter Rene' Akerman; brother Harry Bailey of San Diego and sister Velma Ringstrom of Montana, grandchildren; Ronal d B. Fisher, Pam Vorman, Deone Akerman, Tama Case and Teena Mackay. She had 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Family requests donations to the Alzheimers Foundation. Memorial Services will be held Sept. 21, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the Lemo n Grove Masonic Temple, Lemon Grove California
