I attended Cathedral H.S. with Rose in the 1960's. We had great fun and always got in trouble for our pranks together. Over the years, we drifted apart, and we again found each other on Classmates.com. after 42 years. Rosie called me and we kept in touch. We were in different states at the time so it was difficult to meet with her. She kept telling me that her stomach was hurting and she had to have some tests done. Tests finally revealed cancer of the pancreas, and that "especially now" she wanted to see me. I took a trip to NY to see her and my children for the Christmas before she died and when we saw each other the years melted away. We chatted for about 2 hours, she looked and felt great and I spoke to her only 3 times after our meeting. Her daughter in law called me the afternoon after her death. She had a good life, traveled to many places and had 3 children and adorable grandchildren. Rosie told me that she felt terrible for her grandchildren - that she would miss seeing them grow up. It was hard to witness.

Rose was born in the Bronx NY to James Castiglione and Maria Amato. She was a 30 yr. resident of Rockland County NY and had her own hair salon for many years. When she sold her shop, she traveled around the world. She leaves behind 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

Rest in peace Rosie - til we meet again.
