Claude Allcon, 65, of 390 S Henderson St, died unexpectedly from a heart attack Monday around 3PM after he was stricken ill in his home.
He was removed in the police ambulance to St Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1PM in the Allen Chapel AME Church, with the Rev EG Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Fletcher & McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening.
Mr Allcon, who was employed as a brickmason, was born February 20, 1890, in Galesburg and was reared and educated here. He was also employed for a period of time by Luke's in Galesburg.
A veteran of World War I, Mr Allcon was a member of Sam Skinner Post, American Legion, and William L Darrow Lodge of Masons.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs Gertrude Allcon; three sisters, Miss Marie Allcon, Mrs Verna Humphries and Mrs Irene Irvin, and a brother, Harper Allcon, all of Galesburg.
