Aiken having been wed to Maria Aiken, an American Indian, now deceased, in 1854, Clatsop County, Oregon Territory. From this marriage two daughters and one son, William Henry Aiken were born. The son continued to prosecute his father's property rights to this land, on 28 May 1891. William H. Aiken, having been born in Clatsop County, in 1873, was a minor. He was given a guardian William Boys and an attorney Sidney Dell to represent him. Both his mother and father were now deceased. The son can be seen in the 1880 U. S. Federal Census for Marion County, Oregon under the name William Aiken, aged ten years old. In both the 1920 and 1930 U. S. Federal Census for Portland, Oregon, William H. Aiken, can be seen as a single and a lodger.
