Mr. Ahlf was born April 4, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of Herman and Sylvia Blake Ahlf. He married Paula Keller Oct. 8, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Ahlf was employed with Bandag Inc. for 29 years. During his employment with Bandag, he enjoyed traveling throughout the world on business and had the opportunity to spend four years living in Brussels, Belgium. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in marketing from the University of Iowa. He was an enthusiastic Iowa Hawkeye fan and member of The University of Iowa Alumni Association. Prior to earning his degree, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966. He received an honorable discharge in 1970 after serving in Okinawa and Hawaii. Survivors include his wife, Paula of St. Charles; two daughters, Cara Dowgiert and husband Richard of Salem, N.H. and Dawn Keller of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Justin Ahlf of Iowa City; a sister, Margaret Stych and husband Ron of Muscatine; a brother, Charles Ahlf and wife Marilyn of Muscatine; and his mother, Sylvia Ahlf of Muscatine.
