O H "Stuffy" Bailey, Jr, 92, of Denton died Tue, June 19, 2007 at Denton Rehabilitation & Nursing Cent. He was bn Feb 20, 1915 in Slidell to O H Bailey, Sr & Lillie Pruett Bailey. He grad frm Slidell High Schl, Burns Commercial Business College of Dallas & the US Marine Corps Admin Schl of San Diego. He married Abbie Lee Gentle on Dec 24, 1938 in Sanger.

He was manager of 7-Up Bottling Co before joining the US Marines in 1943. He served in the So Pacific during WWII. He was appointed Assist Co Auditor for Denton for 8 yrs & Co Auditor for 18 yrs. He retired in 1981. He was a memb of 1st Bapt Ch of Denton since 1940, coach of Denton Little League baseball & softball teams & served as Sec & Treasurer of Little League. He was a former memb of Denton Optimist Club & very instrumental in organizing Optimist Clubs in other cities. He was a memb of KP Lodge & Lions Club & served on the Emily Fowler Library Board. He was an avid fisherman & hunter & in 1972 he received Denton Co's Sportsman of the Yr Award. He enjoyed playing dominoes at the Denton Civic Center.

Visit will be Thurs, June 21st frm 6:00 - 8:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Fri, June 22nd at 2:00 PM at the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Mem'l Park. Pallbearers will be Bret Garrett, Devin Garrett, Erik Diers, Gerald Cardwell, Jimmy Normile & Robert Pruett.

He is survived by his wife, Abbie Lee Bailey of Denton; daughter, Janis Wetherbee of Denton; son, Bill Bailey of Denton; sister, Bonita Hendrix of Ft. Worth; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Olena Raney.
