As a young child she traveled with her family by barge across Long Island Sound to South Norwalk, CT on route to her parent's new home on Grumman Ave in Norwalk where she lived until World War II. She attended Connecticut College for Women and taught French at Norwalk High School. During World War II she served with the Red Cross in London during the blitz bombing from Germany. At the end of the war she was employeed by the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Branch in Heidelberg, Germany and subsequently in the Transportaion Branch. In 1953 she married Henry Vogel, an attorney, and moved to Paris in 1956. She lived there until 1967,returning to Connecticut and residing in Wilton until her death from natural causes at the age of 92.
