Ruth Fuller Akers, 78, passed away at her daughter's home on Monday, June 15, 2015. She was born in Phoebus and was a lifelong resident of Hampton. She was employed with Maida Development Company and retired in 2004 after 38 years of service.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sallie Fuller; first husband, Jerry D. Matics; and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband of 30 years (names of the living have been omitted per Find A Grave rules).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, at the funeral home, officiated by Robert Wills. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
