Obituary: "Alice Louise Clarke Amon, 96, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Hospice at The Inn at Medina. She was born August 31, 1909 in Coventry, England, and was a Medina resident for 40 years. She was a retired nurse anesthetist for Crile Veteran's Hospital in Cleveland. She was a member of Medina United Methodist Church, Project MUNCH, Project LEARN, Medina General Hospital Volunteer Knitters, Medina Needlework Guild, Medina Historical Society and Medina Women of the Military. Alice was an Army veteran, serving in Australia and New Guinea with the 4th General Hospital in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia A. Amon of Findlay, stepsons, Albert (Pam) of Tennessee and James (Kathleen) of New Jersey; nephews and nieces, Robert (Maria), Charles (Judy) Snyder, William Stein Jr and Penny Stein; many grandchildren, friends, and her beloved pet, Lucky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Albert; sisters, Ruth Clarke Snyder, Mildred Stein, and granddaughter, Carey Jo Amon." (Medina County Gazette 13 June 2006)
