"Bob" Smith was my uncle. He married my aunt Velma Wyatt Smith, my mother's only sister. He had one child, a doted-on daughter, Deborah Lee Smith, my cousin, and my friend. Bob was a fine man- very patient and loving. There was no job "too small" for him, and he was the kindest man I ever met. (An example of this kindness- on their vacations, Bob and Velma would drive 100 miles out of their way, pick up myself and my two sisters, and include us in their "rest" and relaxation! That made FOUR little girls giggling in the back seat during trips.) He seemed to delight in making others happy- especially children.
He served our country in WWII in the Marine Corp. He was an excellent butcher, and a good cook, as I have said- no job was too small for or "beneath" him. The older I get- the more I think of him, and what a truly wonderful human being he was. He is greatly missed.
