Clarence William Furrow, 87, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was born in Newport, Va., on September 30, 1914, to the late William Henry Furrow and Delia Shepherd Furrow Boles. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel C. Keister and two brothers, Irvin J. (Red) Furrow and Charles C. Furrow. He retired from Celanese with 36 years of service. He was a very faithful family man who loved his family very much and enjoyed attending his church. He is survived by his wife, Minnie White Furrow; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil Wayne and Doris Furrow of Ill., and William Michael and Mary Furrow of Newport; two sisters, Kathleen Hypes and Bertha Lafon, both of Newport; brother, Robert Furrow of Blacksburg; three granddaughters, Angela Gail Linkous, Crystal Michella Furrow, and Whitney Michaela Furrow; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Truelove; several nieces, nephews and cousins; good friends, Charles and Nellie Heath of Fla.; special friend, Mary Lucado; and very special friends, Rev. and Mrs. Earnest Fulcher of Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 22, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Christiansburg Fellowship Tabernacle Church, Christiansburg, with the Rev. Earnest Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
