Aged 43Y 5M 28D. John and his three brothers traveled from Brownsville, Fayette Cty, Pennsylvania sometime after 1812 with their widowed mother Margaret Catherine Brawley. In Athens County, 1817, his mother married William Donaldson. John married Sarah Sayres 6 Sep 1836. Papers concerning the administration of John's estate were presented to Athens Probate Court and dated May 6, 1854. John died when his infant son William was only about four months old. John and Sarah sold one acre with water privilages and a gristmill on June 1853, the last of the land transactions in the Athens County Recorders Office for John. Surviving John was his son Patrick Leander, Elizabeth R, John, William and his wife Sarah. His daughter Mary Eliza proceeded him in death by two years, and John was buried next to his little girl. Sarah was buried next to John, and Rick C. has taken a photo of where her stone used to be located.

I have added William Donaldson as John's father because this was the only father John knew. If anyone were to know the name of John's biological father, I would be greatly appreciative to know his name.
