PINEVILLE -- Lillian Joyce Goddard, 71, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999 at her residence following a long illness. (2 Year battle with Breast Cancer). Born Sept. 2, 1927, at Itmann, she was the daughter of the late Blake and Hattie Stewart Cook. Mrs. Goddard was a homemaker, a graduate of Pineville High School and a member of Rockcastle Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Alvin Goddard; a son, John David Goddard and his wife, Debra of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Buddy Cook of Pineville and Mrs. Pat Workman of Cross Lanes; three brothers, Otis Cook of Oceana, Dick Cook of Pineville, and Barbe Cook of Amarillo, TX; and two grandsons, John Allen "Chip" Goddard and his wife, Venessa, of Bridgeport and David Edward Goddard and his wife, Wendy of Morgantown.

Services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday at Rockcastle Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald "Doc" Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
