Mrs. Helen M. (Welling) Sharrow, 94, of Gaylord died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at the home of her granddaughter, Sue, in Lachine. Mrs. Sharrow was born in Mio on May 3, 1915, the daughter of Claude and Margaret (Galbraith) Deyarmond.

She was raised in Wolverine and moved to Vanderbilt in 1945. She retired from Standard Products in 1977 after 27 years. She was a member and past matron of the Eastern Star, member of the Vanderbilt Community Church and a volunteer with RSVP. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and basket weaving.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Welling; her second husband, Andrew Sharrow; her sister, Carrie Welling; three brothers, Jacob, William and Charles; and son-in-law, Bob Brado.

Surviving are daughter, Carol Brado of Lachine; grandchildren, Sue (Walt) Jackowiak and Don (Gail) Brado, both of Lachine and Cheryl Freske of Indian River; eight great-grandchildren, Bob (Dr. Laurie) Jackowiak, Krystal (David) Ratliff, James, Jennifer and Bill Brado, Karen (Kris) Seavey and Becky and Alan Freske; three great-great-grandchildren, Joseph and Miya Brado and Brock Seavey; sister, Betty June (Thomas) Baker of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Donna Deyarmond of Rhodes, Mich., Marie Howe of Cheboygan and Lenna Young of Erie, Mich.; four stepchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece Elsie (John) Konopaski of Vanderbilt.

Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Naile officiating. Visitation was held (Saturday), Sept. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. Burial was at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
