She grew up and attended school and lived her entire life in Manhattan. She graduated from the Manhattan High School. She married George Ballantyne in Manhattan on July 3, 1940, and Mildred spent her life caring for her family and home in Manhattan.
She enjoyed her friends, playing cards, bowling and watching her grandchildren grow to adulthood.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Jackie Ballantyne of Manhattan; grandson, Brad Ballantyne of Manhattan; granddaughter and husband, Christina and Steve Mest of Helena; sister and husband, Lois and Bob Davis of Manhattan; brother and wife, Ken and Libby Roth of Billings; brother, Gerald “Dutch” Roth of Helena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1992, and by brothers Lloyd and Floyd Roth.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in the Meadowview Cemetery in Manhattan. Memorials in her name may be made to the Manhattan Presbyterian Church.
