Lonnie K. Houseright, 47, of Marion, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 1977, in Marion Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Houseright was a squad leader of the Illinois Bureau of Investigation where he won a superintendent's award for distinguished service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Milford Masonic Lodge, the Southern Illinois Woodcarvers Association and the First Baptist Church of Marion.

Mr. Houseright was born in Karnak on Aug. 11, 1929, to Joseph and Elsie Bunker Houseright. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He was married to Mary Rhoades in Streator on Sept. 23, 1950.

Survivors are his wife; father; daughters, Pamela Welch of Missouri and Susan Houseright of Marion; sons, Joseph of Springfield and David of Texas; sister, Naomi Hunter of Missouri; and brother, Roy Lee Houseright of Geneva.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Marion. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit after 3 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell Funeral Home.
