Mary Francis Rhoads Houseright, 69, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2000, in Heritage Manor in Carlinville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in East Lawn Cemetery in Energy, with the Rev. George Adam officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Houeright attended Jersey County elementary schools and Jerseyville Community High School. She later obtained her GED and cosmetology license and was a beauty shop owner. She also worked for many years as a ward clerk at Marion Memorial Hospital.

She was a Baptist and enjoyed needlework and crafts.

She was born July 4, 1930, in Jersey County to Carey C. and Bertha L. (Kirby) Rhoads.

She married Lonnie K. Houseright in 1950 in Streator. He died in 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Houseright of Hettick and David Houseright of Cobden; two daughters, Pamela Welch of Oak Park and Susan De Coursey of Marion; six grandchildren, Ruth, Kyle and Bethany Houseright, John Welch, Brett Blankenship and Joshua Foster; one brother, John Rhoads of Godfrey; three sisters, Kathryn Handling of Godfrey, Doris Garncarz of Peru and Helen Van Hyning of Streator, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson also preceded her in death.
