Sarah O. Barbee 73, of Ashland, formerly of Pleasant Plains, died Thursday at St. John's Hospice.
She was born May 28, 1922, in Campbellsville, Ky., the daughter of Sam Coy and Minnie Rachael Jones Brockman. She married Lyle Edward Barbee in Springfield in 1940. Mrs. Barbee, a member of Pleasant Plains Church of Christ, was employed by the state Department of Transportation, retiring in 1984. Survivors: husband, Lyle E.; a son, Richard Barbee of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Max (Lyletta) Searle of Morgan, Utah, Mrs. Jim (Beverly) Angenendt of Jacksonville and Mrs. Craig (Linda) Morrow of Pleasant Plains; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, John and Sam Brockman, both of Springfield, L.C. Brockman of Pleasant Plains and Lewis Brockman of Chatham; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Emma) Fisher of Springfield.
Graveside Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Pleasant Plains Cemetery, the Rev.
George Elder officiating. Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
