Fletcher was the daughter of James Madison and Mary Jane (Thames) Smith. She married Clyde Wesley Brumfield and had two sons. After Clyde died, she married James Harris Harvey. Clyde , James, and one of the sons are all buried in the Tylertown Cemetery in Walthall Co., MS. but due to a mix-up in the Tylertown cemetery records, Fletcher had to be buried elsewhere.
