Berneta was born on March 1, 1924 in rural Wisner, Nebraska to Fred and Anna Broekemeier. She was raised on the family farm and attended school until the beginning of WWII when she began helping on the family farm and assisting neighboring families.

On September 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Art Beck and the couple made their home in Blair, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children.

Over the years, Berneta was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed volunteering with the hospital Rummage Sale, the Auxiliary Closet and Washington County Recycling Center. She was active with the Blair Farmers Market, selling vegetables and her homemade jams and baked goods.

Berneta A. Beck age 95 of Blair, passed away May 28, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, Nebraska.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Crystal Olsen, Al (Cindy) Beck, Fred (Sandy) Beck; grandchildren: Becky Olsen, Sara Olsen, Alex Beck (fiancée Amber Meyer), Morgan Beck, Jeff (Sam) Nieto; great-grandchildren: Rocco and Zahra; sister Ardyce Zicht.

She was preceded in death by her husband Art Beck, son-in-law George Olsen, sister Malinda Means, brothers Merlin and Glenn Broekemeier and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair at 10:00 AM with graveside services following at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
