John S. Briscoe, 75, of 474 Dickinson St., Springfield, died at his home. Born in New Britain, Conn., May 10, 1896, he was a resident of Springfield the past 51 years. Before his retirement he was employed as a stock clerk for Bigelow Sanford, Inc. of Enfield, Conn. He was an army veteran of World War I, Barracks 307. He leaves his wife Mrs. Lottie (Sterczala) Briscoe, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hayes of Wilbraham and Mrs. Irene Hosmer of Springfield, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Sharameto of Worcester. The funeral will be Monday at Byron's Funeral Home, followed by the liturgy of Christian burial at Holy Name Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
