Barbara J. Anderson, 75, of Kane Rd., Sheffield, passed into the next life Monday, at Hamot Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born September 6, 1935 in Millcreek to the late Benjamin and Opal Carner Fugate.

Formerly of Millcreek, Barb became a Sheffield resident following her marriage to Merle W. Anderson in 1956. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lou Ann Timmins, Clarendon and Sue Champlin, Warren; two sons Don Anderson, Warren and Bryan Anderson, Brockton, NY; two sisters, Bernice, Clapper, Erie, and Beverly McKinley, Erie; one brother, Duane Fugate, Millcreek; eight grandchildren; 4 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Kenneth Fugate.

Barb was a registered nurse and worked at Warren General Hospital in the nursery and retired from North Warren State Hospital as a Nursing Supervisor in 1990. She was a member of the Sheffield VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and puzzles. Barb great loves and enjoyment came from spending time with her family, playing cards, the lottery, going to casinos, and her dog Dino.
