Sarah Applebee, 29, of Conquest Road, Port Byron, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 25, 2012. Sarah was born in Port Byron, the daughter of Randy and Cathy Applebee. Sarah resided in Port Byron her whole life, graduating from Dana L. West High School with the class of 2000. She attended the Port Byron Free Methodist Church in her younger years and, through the camp program at Wildwood Camp, accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. In later years, she attended Auburn Alliance Church, where she was baptized and ministered to others there in her own unique way, making cards and praying for those who God put in her heart. Sarah loved doing crafts and playing games. Throughout high school, and for years afterward, she worked to put her favorite recipes into her own cookbook called "See What's Cooking: A Large Print Cookbook for the Visually Impaired." Sarah is survived by her parents, her brother, Stephen (Mandy), of Port Byron, and her sister, Sally (Justin) McKenney, of Erie, Pa.; nephews and niece, Trevor and Lukas Applebee, Aiden and Kailyn McKenney; grandmothers Doris Applebee, of Port Byron, and Marguerite Hempel, of Eldridge, Mo.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by grandfathers Guy Applebee and Thomas Hempel.
