Lillie Mae Akins - age 87 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, June 14, 2013. She was of the Baptist faith. Lillie was the manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Lenoir City for 37 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Vennie Akins; son, Harold (Buster) Akins; brothers, J. R. Akins and Johnny Akins, and son-in-law, Mike Thomas.

Survived by her son, Wayne Akins and wife, Mary; daughters, Phylis J. Burnette and husband, Leslie, Deloris Thomas all of Lenoir City, and Glena Ray Spears of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 great grandchild due in July which is to be her namesake; brother, Bobby Burchfield and wife, Jean of Philadelphia; sister, Anna Ruth Price of Lenoir City; sister-in-law, Ruth Akins of Sweetwater; former daughter-in-law, Jean Glass Ogle; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the staff at Fort Loudoun Medical Center for their loving and compassionate help. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Burchfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
