Flora Smith was born to John Smith and Almeda Jane Jones in Kentucky. At age 9 the family moved to Oklahoma as one of the Sooner families. In 1903 Flora married Edward Emdee who had moved to OK from Lafayette Indiana. The couple had two girls, Wilda and Velma. In 1912 they moved back to Indiana. Edward died in 1913 or 1914. Flora worked as a seamstress and head of household. She eventually moved to California during WWII as part of war effort. She married a Fitzgerald. After he died, she moved to Ft. Sill, Ok to live with her daughter Velma and her family (the Hulley's). She met and married Ed Burson who died in 1952. She continued to live in Ok until her death.
