Hannah Richards (sic) was born in Bellmont County, Ohio, November 8, 1820 and when quite young came to Indiana with her parents and lived in Fayette county.

After her marriage to Martin Alger they moved to the farm near Jamesville. This was in 1849. Mr. and Mrs. Alger spent their entire married life on the farm and at the death of Mr. Alger, 26 years ago the son, Freeman, took charge of the farm. Mrs. Alger made her home with her son since her husband's death.

Left to mourn her death are Freeman Alger at whose home she died, Leander and Marshall, both near Laketon, Jefferson of Michigan, Mrs. Andrew Baker of North Manchester and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
