Son of Zur and Virginia M. (Luster) Acord. Married first to Elizabeth (Baxla)Acord on August 27, 1840 in Delaware County, Indiana. They had several children. She died on March 5, 1853 at Yorktown, Delaware County, Indiana.
After her death he and the children moved in 1856 to Fremont County, Iowa. It was here he married Nancy Louisa McCluskey on May 5, 1864. They had several children including Virginia, Josephine, Mary, and Julia.
He died on February 23, 1875 as established by the Probate File with Fremont County. Nancy died on November 21, 1889.
It is believed by family research and the Fremont County Historical Society that they are buried in the Acord Family Cemetery. No markers have been located but there are many that are weathered and unreadable.
