Barbara was born in the Kingdom Of Bavaria under the rule of King Ludwig I in the small town of Pöllersdorf in Upper Franconia, Oct. 18, 1832.
In 1853 Barbara along with family and friends including her future husband Leonhardt Böhner/Leonard Boehner boarded the clipper ship Russell Sturges in Bremen and sailed to America where they landed in New Orleans on Nov. 5, 1853.
They were married in St. Louis, Missouri on Dec. 13, 1853 and in 1854 they settled in Springfield, Illinois. Leonard and Barbara have 8 children (3 die in childhood).
Barbara died at the young age of 56 in 1889.
