James Lamar Abbot, 45, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
He was born in LaFayette on Oct. 22, 1963 . He was a self-employed contract-painter and was of the Baptist faith. He loved cars and riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his fiance, Chrissy Dearing; grandparents, Jim and Avie Abbott, Mae Ponder and Shannon Kirk.
Survivors include his mother, Jimmie Abbott; father and stepmother, Elmer and Faye Abbott; daughters, Hillarie Brooke Abbott and Shannon Rachel Marie Abbott; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Vickie Abbott; stepsister, Chastity Ward, all of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 23, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, and prior to the service on Frida
