Cindy Joan Mills, R.N., 40, of Westernville, N.Y., wife of William J., passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, N.Y., after a brief illness.
She was born in Newton, N.J., on Feb. 5, 1973, a daughter of Austin A. and Judith Karin Erickson Young.
Cindy grew up in Blairstown, N.J., graduating from Warren Hills Regional High School.
Thereafter, she furthered her education at Raritan Valley Community College, eventually earning her bachelor's degree in nursing.
For the past six years until the present time, Mrs. Mills was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Utica.
She was also employed with her husband, Bill, in the operation of their family farm, the Udderside Dairy Farm of Westernville.
She attended Pilgrim Holiness Church of Marcy.
She was very devoted to her husband, children, family, the nursing and medical profession and the operation of their farm.
Cindy had the kindest of hearts, sweetest of souls and many, many friends. She was a devoted Christian.
In addition to her husband, Cindy is survived by a son, Randy A. Mills, 22, who is currently a 1st Class Cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and who will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army with the Class of 2013; a daughter, Judith S. Mills, 20, who is currently a student at SUNY Morrisville; a son, William George Mills, 7, at home; and a son, Joseph Thomas Mills, 4, at home.
Also surviving is a maternal aunt, Jane Neuls, Hellertown, Pa.; and an aunt and uncle who were her surrogate parents, Sandy and Jerry Mills, Gettysburg, Pa.; and by many other family members.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Austin A. and Judith Karin Young.
Her funeral will be held at noon on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, N.Y., with interment to follow in Westernville Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, and from 10 a.m. until the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
