MRS, BESSIE HUNT CAVELL, 83, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Skaneateles, died Sunday after a long illness. A native of Auburn, she had resided in Skaneateles for 70 years. She moved to Kissimmee, Fla., in August, 1969.

She was the widow of Walter L. Cavell. Mrs. Cavell was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church, Skaneateles, and was a charter member, past matron and former secretary of the Skaneateles Chapter 505 OES. She was also a life member of the Village Improvement Association, a member of the Skaneateles Garden club and a charter member of the Robert J. Hydon Post, American Legion Auxiliary. She was also secretary and assistant treasurer of the Skaneateles Railroad for 29 years and was former treasurer of the Village of Skaneateles.

Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Thomas Rauber of
Dansville; three nephews, Daniel of Smithtown, L.I., Bert of Marcellus and Bruce Hunt of Skaneateles.

Services were held Wednesday at the Bernie J. O'Neill and Son Funeral Home, 51 Jordan St., Skaneateles, the Rev. John M. Teeter, rector of St. James Episcopal Church, officiated. Honorary bearers were Frank W. DeWitt, Ivan J. Stewart, Searles G. Shultz, T. Dean Howland, Thomas G. Clarkson and Ernest Crego.

Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneateles.
