my dad came to this country shortly after my parents married in 1947.they chose to come to new york in order to give their children a better future.
my dad was known as louie, but we knew him as pop, then dad(as we got older).my dad was a auto body repairman,so we grew up around the top cars of the day(back then).i remember him always covered in grease and chasing me around saying he was going to cover me in grease as well.he never caught me, even though he could have.
my parents had their ups and downs, but always made sure i knew it wasnt because of me.even after their divorce,i knew he was there for me.
my dad was a fantastic domino player, entering several contests.he even won several of them.he taught me how to play since he felt i didnt belong in a garage with him and my brothers.i now play with my children and granddaughter(my other grandchildren only try to eat the dominoes).he would have loved this.
my dad passed away on may 10,1984(my 1st. mothers day).he was 58 years old.
even though this date will always be part of my day,we always keep it a happy time because he always had a smile for me(somewhere under the grease).
with lots of love-your daughterslizette and susanna, your sons jorge and harold, and your many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
