Benjamin Vincent Archer was born at Marsh Harbour, Abaco, the Bahamas. He was one of the three sons of Elizabeth Pinder and Benjamin Archer. In 1826, he married Charlotte Matilda Pyfrom and had a family of 12 children. The family left the Bahamas in 1839 and moved to Key West where Benjamin supported his family by working as a blacksmith. He owned a home on Caroline Street, probably where he died in 1880. ©2010 by Claudia Naugle
