Joyce Elizabeth Ashmore
TRAVERSE CITY — Joyce Elizabeth Ashmore, 64, of Traverse City, died July 23, 2012, at her home. She was born on Feb. 4, 1948, in Petoskey, the daughter of Dorothy Mashka.
Joyce retired from the Lear Corporation after 25 years of service. She also worked at the Women's Resource Center.
Joyce loved being with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed boating, camping, yard work, bowling and her cat, "Miss Kitty".
Joyce is survived by her sons, Andy Miller and Dennis (Jami) Miller, all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Austin, Carson and Parker; brother, Ron (Deb) Harp, of Traverse City; sister-in-law, Mary Harp; brother-in-law, Tom Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Harp; husband, Roger Ashmore; sister, Victoria Anderson; and brothers, Craig and Richard Harp.
Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. Burial will be in the Whitewater Township Cemetery, Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
