Here's what I have on that family.
George Abbot, b. 17 Feb. 1845 at Westford, Massachusetts, d. 3 Oct. 1910 at Umatilla, Ore. George m. 23 Feb. 1875 at Portland, Me., Elizabeth Taylor Daveis, b. abt. 1854 at Me., who d. 20 Dec. 1937 at Tyron, N.C., dau. of John Taylor Gilman and Francis (Gordon) Daveis. George was listed as a resident of San Francisco, Cal., when he married at Portland, Me. The WA Cat. indicated George “went west.” In 1880, listed as a wool broker, he and Elizabeth were living in San Rafael, Cal. His mother-in-law, Francis Daveis was living with them.
Elizabeth’s death certificate indicated she was a widow, and a resident at the Columbia Hotel, Portland, Me. She was listed in Portland, Me., as a widow, in 1920.
George and Elizabeth are buried in the Western Cemetery, Portland, Me.

Again, thanks to Marilyn (Green) Day for providing the foregoing information.
The date of death in this memorial is based on the Portland, Cumberland, Maine records for the Western Cemetery. His obituaries indicate that he died Sunday night, which would place the date of his death on October 2. His body was discovered on October 3 and likely is the reason for that date being recorded as the date of death.
The cemetery records also spell his surname as "Abbott" whereas the obituary spells it as "Abbot." "Abbot" also is the spelling on his grave marker. This memorial reflects the spelling as indicated in the in the obituaries and the grave marker.
