Mrs. Emma C. Bailey, widow of Henry T. Bailey and member of a well known family, died at her residence, 619 Newton Street, at 3 a.m. Sunday.

She was the daughter of the late B.H.O. Cochran and Lucy M. Wood Cochran and was born November 25, 1883 in Cherokee County. Her maternal grandparents were pioneer settlers in Wood's Bend in that county.

Mrs. Bailey's husband, who died in 1939, was a member of the law firm of Boykin and Bailey for ten years before his death.

She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. She taught a Sunday school class at Fort Payne, her former home.

Surviving are two sons, Henry T. Bailey, Jr., Mobile and James W. Bailey, Southampton, Va; and one brother, E.S. Cochran, Gadsden Route 2 and two sisters, Mrs. Leila Griffith and Miss Margaret Cochran, both of Gadsden.

Funeral service were held at Collier-Butler chapel at 11 a.m. today. Interment was in Forrest cemetery.
