Negro slave girl, Fannie, may have been given the name Anderson, as was often the custom. First burial in the orchard which became the Anderson Cemetery. She died Monday May 31, 1841, buried in a hand made coffin, according to the diary of Willis A. Anderson. "Marked by just a plain rock at the north end [at that time] near the road."
