John Frank Aden, 94, of Hazard died Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hazard United Methodist Church. The Rev. Arnold Kramer will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazard Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Rex Rasmussen, Bruce Moritz, Kent Hubbert, Michael Aden, Bradley Moritz, James Aden.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna.

Mr. Aden was born July 16, 1900, in Garrison to Hiyo and Effie Stone Aden. He had lived in the Hazard area since 1906 when his family moved there from Butler County. He attended school at Hazard and also attended a short agriculture course at the University of Nebraska.

Mr. Aden married Lorna M. Viergutz in 1928 at Estevan Sask, Canada. The couple lived at Hazard until recently moving to the Good Samaritan Center at Ravenna. Mr. Aden was appointed rural mail carrier at Hazard in 1925 and continued in that position until 1959. He also did some farming and operated a house moving business for a number of years.

He was a member of the Hazard United Methodist Church and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He enjoyed travel, woodworking and repair work.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Merle Aden of Pocotello, Ida.; two daughters, Marlene (Mrs. Bob) Rasmussen of Litchfield and Marlys (Mrs. Wayne) Moritz of Broomfield, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by infant twin sons, an infant daughter and three brothers Spencer, George and Fred.
