RUSSEL DEAN ADAMS

Russel Dean Adams was born June 16, 1856 at Fitchburg, Dane county, Wisconsin, and passed away December 9, 1936, at Loup City, Nebraska, aged 80 years, 5 months, and 23 days. He was married to Arminta Oliver on March 19, 1885 at Sanborn, Iowa, where they lived until 1892, when they moved to Rising City, Nebraska. Later they lived at Bellwood, then in 1906 they moved to Loup City where he resided until his death.
To this union 12 children were born, six daughters and six sons. Two daughters, one son and his wife preceded him in death. He is survived by five sons, Russel of Broken Bow, William of Arcadia, Chester, Lewis and Vernon of Loup City; Four daughters, Mrs. Steve Schuerman of Ashland, Oregon, Mrs. Kenneth Crownover of Sargent, Mrs. James McMeekin and Mrs. August Thelen of Shelby; one brother and 23 grandchildren.
Mr. Adams was a kind and loving father, who took much pride in his home and family. He loved the out-of-doors, especially the trees surrounding his home. His merry laugh and keen sense of humor endeared him to those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be sadly missed by his children and friends who knew him best.
Mr. and Mrs. Adams celebrated their golden wedding anniversary March 19, 1935. Thus for more than 51 years this devoted couple passed the milestones together. Their separation was not for long, as Mrs. Adams' going was just a few days over three months ago.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at two o'clock Dec. 11 with Rev. Peterson officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife in Evergreen Cemetery.
